I need advice....

 This kid I knew since I was three was my best friend in the world until a year ago when we dated, then he became my everything. He broke up with me in May, but we were really close until the end of July when i found out he was with someone else. then he flipped on ME because HE fucked up. We havent talked since.... 
 Well, I miss him a lot, and think about him everyday of my life. I have dreams about him almost every night and I wake up crying.  Its not so much that I want him to be mine again [even tho that would be nice].... I just want my best friend back, ya know?
So my question is: Should I send him a message on myspace saying Hey, Merry Christmas. Or should I just let it go....?
